Program Manager – New Animal Welfare Initiative

The Shamayim V’Aretz Institute (SVA)—a Jewish animal welfare organization that educates leaders, trains advocates, and leads campaigns for the ethical treatment of animals—is launching a new animal welfare initiative. The program manager will direct key programs for the new initiative including:
  • Building content for a new website
  • A college fellowship program to educate and train college students interested in animal welfare at colleges throughout the US.
  • A retreat taking place in March 2017 at Pearlstone Retreat Center near Baltimore, MD.
The ideal candidate for this position will be a self-starter that can manage multiple projects, take initiative and work quickly and efficiently.

Principal Duties include:
  • Work with SVA board members to handle Institute projects and programs
  • Represent SVA in calls with volunteers and local representatives and partners
  • Coordinate the college fellowship program
  • Project management, campaign management, and help plan the 2017 Retreat
  • Recruitment of college fellows, campaign volunteers, retreat attendees
  • Grant Writing and Fundraising
Requirements:
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong organization skills and follow through
  • Outgoing personality and comfortable recruiting
  • Strong computer skills including Google apps. Website management skills a plus
  • Strong interest in animal welfare
  • Grant writing experience a plus
