Meat Reduction

Reduce, refine, and replace.

The vast majority of meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy products sold in North American supermarkets and restaurants comes from animals raised in factory farms. These animals are treated inhumanely. Reducing consumption of animal-based foods, refining one's diet to eliminate animals that are treated the worst, and replacing animal-based foods with plant-based foods can improve the situation of billions of animals.

Purchase meat from more ethical farms. Check out the beef scorecard to see which "ethical" producers are the most ethical.
One great way to reduce meat consumption is to join the growing trend of people participating in meatless Mondays.
The Shamayim V'Aretz Institute is a Jewish animal welfare organization that educates leaders, trains advocates, and leads campaigns for the ethical treatment of animals.  Contact us at [email protected]
