2018 Shamayim V'Aretz National Retreat

Picture

Jewish Animal Welfare Retreat

Please join us for six vegan gourmet meals, insightful talks and presentations, community building, spiritual growth, outdoor activities and lots of fun at our fourth annual national retreat at the Brandeis-Bardin Campus just outside of LA. The retreat  will take place February 2-4, 2018.

Community Building

During the past three retreats, we have developed  an extensive network of Jewish animal welfare activists. This retreat will strengthen our previous connections and build new bridges. This retreat will also provide a supportive space for new and seasoned activists, experts, and Jewish leaders to interact.

Campaigns and Projects

This year's retreat will focus on our key campaigns in improving the lives of animals, as well as some new initiatives in the ending the worst practices in the kosher industry. This includes the "shackle and hoist" method used to slaughter livestock, particularly cattle as well as the kosher veal industry. Other campaigns topics will be released closer to the retreat. We will also continue working on our educational initiatives.
