The Shamayim V'Aretz Institute

Jewish Ethics. Heavenly Ideals. Earthly Compassion.

Animal Welfare Activism: The Shamayim Campus Fellowship

The Shamayim V’Aretz campus fellowship trains Jewish vegetarian and vegan college students to take action. Fellows will participate in college wide learning initiatives and conference calls, and they will learn how to raise awareness and best articulate animal welfare causes and Jewish veganism.

A campus fellow will have the opportunity to work directly with Rabbi Shmuly and the Shamayim V’Aretz leadership team. We will help you hone your activism and leadership skills. We will also help you develop a plan on how to make animal welfare a talking point on your campus, and we will supply you with the tools necessary for tabling, leafleting, learning groups, and other outreach activities.

The fellowship is a yearlong commitment. Fellows are expected to attend six to eight conference calls and will be invited to a multi-day spiritual retreat in the winter or early spring of 2014. Fellows can receive seed money for projects and will also receive a modest stipend upon completion of the fellowship.

Through the Shamayim Campus Fellowship fellows will learn valuable leadership skills and more
importantly create a lasting change in the world.
